If You Like Pina Coladas…

phew. its been a long week. i havent written in a while. i know i have like 3 regular followers… so to those people i apologize. and for anybody else just joining in this blog for the first time: welcome. im josh. how ya doing? take a seat. have a drink. sit back and enjoy the blogging. glancing at the title of this post im suddenly realizing how much i would love a pina colada right now. if i have diehard fans or groupies you can prove your dedication by bringing me a pina colada. or any type of drink. i live at 1060 w. addison st. haha anybody get that reference? lemme know in the comments. well hanukkahs over. so is christmas. but im pretty sur kwanzaas still going strong. ive been listening to lps non stop this break because of my amazing new speakers. heres a pic of mah new setup…  they plug into my turntable, computer, and ipod. i really needed speakers too. before i had to listen to vinyl through the computer… ughh i know right. gag me with a spoon. ooh ive always wanted to insert that good ol ’80s term into conversation. or blogversation. now i can cross that off my bucket list. but i just got back from the princeton record exchange. oh my god it kicked ass. really a top notch store there. the highlight though was the $1 bins. i mean every store has $1 bins… but these were awesome. first of all there were tons of them all throughout the store. but the kicker is they were in amazing condition. i walked out of there with 15 $1 lps. i was soo happy.

lets see. i got a foreigner, bad company, supertramp, elton john, squeeze, jim croce, doobie brothers, america, johnny cougar,  bourgeois tagg, the babys, eddie money, journey, chicago, and asia. and most were albums i had never heard of. i mean not journey, john mellencamp, supertramp, asia, or america. those are pretty iconic albums. but id never seen foreigner’s head games before. or east side story by squeeze. it was a pretty eyeopening experience. and i was so excited to get a bourgeois tagg. i heard their song i don’t mind at all on the radio and love it. so to find their album was pretty awesome. the same thing happened with the babys. i heard their songs isn’t it time and everytime i think of you. so to get those albums was pretty rad. and then ive been building up a chicago collection for quite some time, and i dont have 16 so i added that to the collection. i wanted the eddie money cause ive always been a sucker for his songs. they’re so cheesy but they’re so catchy so i had to get it. supertramps one of my favorite bands, so i had to get crime of the century. and i think every other purchase is pretty self explanatory. i kinda just wanted to explain why i wanted each one. i love talking about the motivation behind buying something. and most people dont like to listen to it. so i figured if you dont want to hear about it… stop reading. simple enough. yup. sorry about that rant. oh and check out my friends youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/joeyfreckles. we have opposing opinions on just about everything but i figured id give him a shoutout cuz his videos are really funny despite the fact that he hates my blog. oh well. if you cant beat em fight em. or post the link to their youtube channel on ur blog. either way c ya rock and roll dwellers.

If You Don’t Eat Yer Meat… You Can’t Have Any Pudding!

hey everybody. sorry i havent posted in a really long time. its been a pretty crappy week. literally. ill get into that later. im hoping to bring up my views this week though. i havent posted in like a week and a half and ive gotten like 3 views in that amount of time. in blogging considerations thats pretty pathetic. so i was like “josh. get on that computer. and write a freaking post.” at first i was like have i run out of things to say? and then i realized that will never happen. i never stop talking. ask anyone i know. i just keep going and going and going and going and going.  so now im typin a post. whoopety doo. la dee freaking da. i was just thinking about that old chris farley sketch down by the river, where the kids says he wants to be a writer, and farley is like LA DEE FREAKING DA. sooo funny. man i love snl. just in case you dont understand the title its from another brick in the wall part 2. at the end you can hear this teacher shouting “if you dont eat yer meat you cant have any pudding! how can you have any pudding if you dont eat yer meat?” i love that. another brick in the wall is awesome so i was like i need to dedicate my next post to floyd. if you havent heard that part you can check it out here on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5diMImYIIA  a while back i decided all my posts would be random quotes and references and whatnot. so just if you dont get the titles thats why. ok so here’s my story about this week. a couple days ago everyone was talking about how someone took a dump outside my next class. i didnt believe it but then my teacher confirmed it. today the person did it again. twice. so our principal called all the guys in our school down for an assembly and yelled at us. at the end of the day everyone was spreading rumors that the kid confessed. i still dont know though. but this is like the weirdest thing to take place at my school ever. im calling the perpetrater the “dapper crapper” or “the crapped crusader.” todays turning out pretty good though. i was just listening to q104.3 and they were playing heart doing a cover of black dog. i was like nooooo way!! one of zeppelins awesomer songs being covered by my favorite canadian rock group (next to the guess who.) (check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U25nYpiXY) that was my pick me up. cause today has been a prettttty weird day. so im glad i got to squeeze out this post… stay classy internet users.

Piece of my Heart, by Big Brother and The Holding Company

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzy_BEzlHWI&feature=related

i actually learned today that Janis Joplin does lead vocals on this song. now that i know i feel like an utter idiot for not realizing it before. it’s quite obvious. i always just thought it was the very feminine lead singer of Big Brother. who really knows anything about that band right? it’s a song that everybody knows but nobody knows the band. so i thought id share that tidbit of obvious info. you learn something stupid everyday so… there ya go.

It’s Dark and We’re Wearing Sunglasses

thought id bust out another post… just for the fun of it. im listening to grooveshark.com. you might have heard of it. my friend turned me on to it, and it’s pretty cool. i decided id use it to keep track of what i wanna add to my ipod. i always hear a song and im like “whoa! that’s awesome! i gotta put that on mah ipod. wait i dont have enough time…” so i figured out its really easy to find a song and add it to grooveshark. so im using that to keep track of what i want to put on my itunes. also grooveshark’s got a ton of stuff. i cant always find what im lookin for on youtube. plus im gettin bored of those pesky ads. so i think i like this website. not sure yet though. like i couldnt find a good version of this song called hocus pocus by focus. its really weird. its got yodeling in it, and some weird gibberish. but its still a pretty awesome song. i was also listening to bourgeois tagg’s i don’t mind at all. i think i posted that as a what’s on your turntable. check it out. it’s got a very awesome intro… but its not very well known. oh and scandal’s goodbye to you. i love that song. i havent heard it in so long. then i turn on the radio today and its playing, and i just scream i love this song!!! maybe im the only one who does that… who knows. whatever. im signing off now its pretty late. goodnight internet.
